Chardonnay Reserve

Chardonnay Reserve
A Chardonnay with substance: half aged in 500-liter barrels, half in steel — the result is a white wine that balances fruit depth and freshness without becoming heavy.
For this Reserve Cuvée, Krug selects exclusively grapes from deep clay soils. The clay retains water and releases it evenly, ensuring ripe, concentrated fruit even in dry years. Aging in large 500-liter oak barrels gives the wine texture and a subtle toasty note without masking the typical Chardonnay freshness.
The glass reveals aromas of yellow apple, white peach, and a hint of roasted hazelnut. The palate is full-bodied with a creamy texture; the acidity keeps the wine lively right through to the long, slightly spicy finish.
Serving suggestion: Served at 11–13 °C, it pairs well with chicken breast in butter sauce, pasta with mushrooms, or a mature Brie. It also complements grilled fish with lemon butter. Ready to drink now, but will keep for another 2–4 years.
