The Red Temptation

A fully mature red wine from the Krug winery – Austrian terroir meets classic Bordeaux-inspired style. This red temptation demonstrates what old vines from the Gumpoldskirchen region are capable of: concentrated fruit, structure, and sheer drinking pleasure all in one.

The Krug winery vinifies this wine from hand-picked, fully ripe grapes from older vines – the reduced number of berries per vine results in a natural concentration that is noticeable in the glass. Gumpoldskirchen, located south of Vienna, is known for its calcareous soils and a warm Pannonian climate, which produces red wines with depth and maturity.

The nose offers dark berry fruits – blackberry, blackcurrant – with a hint of plum. On the palate, a soft chocolate and cocoa note, pleasantly integrated tannins, medium body. The finish is warm and lingering.

Krug Winery

Krug Winery – Gumpoldskirchen since 1746. In 1998, a modern winery was built right in the heart of the vineyards. 35 hectares in the best locations of the Thermenregion, sustainable viticulture, rigorous selection. The soils of clay and limestone – already appreciated by the ancient Romans. Here grow Rotgipfler and Zierfandler, powerful, complex white wines, but also red wines with aging potential. And the aim: to offer exceptional drinking pleasure even in their youth. Varietal winners, gold, silver – the Krug Winery is a true goldmine. Austria's Burgundy, as it tastes.
