Königschaffhausen-Kiechlinsbergen Kiechlinsberger Ölberg Pinot Noir QbA
A Pinot Noir from the Kiechlinsberg Ölberg vineyard – one of the most prestigious sites in the Kaiserstuhl region, where volcanic weathered soil and Germany's warmest climate enable world-class Pinot Noir production. The Königschaffhausen-Kiechlinsbergen winegrowers' cooperative cultivates these steep slopes collectively and has been one of the most reliable producers of Baden Pinot Noir for decades.
In the glass, the 2018 vintage showcases the Kaiserstuhl region's potential: sour cherry and blood orange on the nose, accompanied by hints of dark chocolate and tree bark. On the palate, it is lean and vibrant, with a delicate fruit sweetness that isn't heavy but rather enhances the drinking pleasure. The tannins are soft, the acidity invigorating – a Pinot Noir that prioritizes elegance over power.
Best served at 14–16 °C . Pairs well with duck breast with cherries, pasta with mushroom ragout, or a ripe Brie. It's also perfect for those who want to enjoy it as an uncomplicated weeknight wine – it requires no decanting or special occasion.
