Kitzer Winery in Badenheim represents classic family craftsmanship. After their father laid the foundation, the three sons, Tobias, Björn, and Julian, now run the winery. Their wine, known as " Dreisatz " – the name alludes to the trio – is made from grapes grown on their own vineyards in Badenheim.
On the nose, fresh grass, elderflower, and ripe gooseberry – the classic aroma profile of the variety, here cleanly and directly expressed. On the palate, it is crisp with lively acidity and a mineral line that keeps the wine lean and precise. No heavy body, no intrusive oak – the focus is on fruit and freshness.

It is vinified dry. The fruit appears aromatically ripe due to the gooseberry and elderflower, but on the palate, it remains lean and without noticeable sweetness.
What does the wine pair best with?
Classically with asparagus with hollandaise sauce or seafood. It also cuts a fine figure with grilled goat cheese, lamb's lettuce with walnuts, or light vegetable and Asian cuisine dishes.
At what temperature should I serve it?
Best at 10–12 °C. Too cold dampens the aromatics, too warm lets the freshness fade – briefly in the wine cooler or 20 minutes in ice water is enough.

What is the story behind the name Dreisatz?
The name refers to the three sons Tobias, Björn, and Julian, who are continuing the Kitzer winery in Badenheim (Rheinhessen) together. The grapes come from their own local Badenheim vineyards.
The Winery
Weingut Kitzer – Rheinhessen viticulture with heart. In Badenheim, where the sun shines the longest in Germany, everything has revolved around wine for six generations. Master winemaker Hans-Friedrich has passed on his passion to his three sons: Tobias, Björn, and Julian – all with international experience, all with the same vision.
The sites around Badenheim offer variety: limestone-shell soil in the Galgenberg, loess-loam at the Römerberg, clay-marl at the Mönchberg. The range: zesty Rieslings, elegant Pinot Noirs, powerful red wines.
Their secret? "Controlled inactivity" – plenty of time for self-development. Rheinhessen coziness and highest quality – that is not a contradiction.
