Karthäuserhofberg Riesling Spätlese

Karthäuserhofberg Riesling Spätlese
A late harvest from the Karthäuserhofberg vineyard that shows why the Ruwer region is known for Riesling with finesse rather than weight: fine residual sweetness, held in suspension by a lively acidity.
The Karthäuserhof estate in Eitelsbach lies on the banks of one of the Moselle's smallest but most prestigious tributaries. The Karthäuserhof vineyard – cultivated with vines since the Middle Ages – is classified as a Grand Cru site and produces Rieslings on weathered grey slate soil, renowned for their cool aromatics and pronounced minerality. The winery is among the most traditional estates in the Ruwer Valley.
On the nose, candied lemon, lime, and ripe peach, along with a hint of pineapple and white blossoms. On the palate, a high, precise acidity supports the sweetness without either element dominating – balance is the true essence of this wine. The finish is long, juicy, and characterized by a fine minerality.
Serving temperature: 8–10 °C. Pairs well with Asian cuisine featuring chili , smoked salmon, mild blue cheese, or as an accompaniment to fruit-based desserts. Drinking window: now until 2032.
