Julius Treis Riesling dry
A Mosel Riesling that shows what the region is known for: clear fruit, lively acidity and that unmistakable mineral depth that comes from the slate soils.
The Julius Treis winery is located in Kröv on the Middle Moselle, nestled between the steep slopes of the Moselle Valley. The vineyards grow on weathered Devonian slate – a soil that retains heat, regulates water, and imparts to the Riesling that typical, stony note that is difficult to imitate.
In the glass, the Riesling displays aromas of green apple, citrus peel, and white peach , underpinned by a subtle slate note. The acidity is present but not sharp – it gives the wine structure and freshness without being harsh. The finish is dry, saline, and pleasantly long.
Serving temperature: 8–10 °C . Pairs well with grilled fish, Asian cuisine with lemongrass, tarte flambée, or fresh goat cheese. It also makes a great aperitif on a warm evening. Drinking window: now until 2027.
