Julius Treis Riesling dry

A Mosel Riesling that shows what the region is known for: clear fruit, lively acidity, and that unmistakable mineral depth that comes from the slate soils.

The Weingut Julius Treis is located in Kröv on the Middle Mosel, nestled between the steep slopes of the Mosel valley. The vineyards grow on weathered Devonian slate – a soil that stores heat, regulates water, and gives the Riesling that typical rock note that can hardly be imitated.

In the glass, the Riesling shows aromas of green apple, citrus peel, and white peach, underpinned by a fine slate tone. The acidity is present but not sharp – it gives the wine backbone and freshness without biting. The finish is dry, salty, with a pleasant length.

Drinking temperature: 8–10 °C. Pairs well with grilled fish, Asian cuisine with lemongrass, tarte flambée, or a fresh goat cheese. It also cuts a fine figure as an aperitif on a warm evening.

Weingut Julius Treis

Weingut Julius Treis from Reil on the Middle Moselle – that is over three centuries of wine history that you can really taste. The family has been growing Riesling here since 1684. Today, Tobias Treis carries on the legacy – with respect for the old and curiosity for the new. His wife Andrea brings her own passion. Together they keep the embers glowing. The Riesling grapes grow on steep slopes, every vine is tended by hand. That takes strength – but exactly this care makes the difference. Mineral, fresh, with the fine spice of the Moselle slate: That is how origin tastes.
