Illuminati Pecorino Terre d'Abruzzo
The vines for this Pecorino grow at an altitude of approximately 250 meters above sea level in Controguerra, which belongs to the Abruzzo region. The grapes are hand-harvested in the second week of September, weather permitting, and fermented at 16-18°C. Ten percent of the must is fermented in barriques for four months, which lends it a more refined character. The finished white wine is straw-yellow in color with greenish hues. On the nose, it is delicate and fragrant, rich in ripe fruit and notes of white flowers, with hints of meadow grasses, citrus fruits, and a touch of spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied, powerful, and very long-lasting, with a good balance between structure and smoothness. Freshness and richness of flavor accompany the long finish. 2 glasses. Gamberro Rosso James Suckling: 91 points

Illuminati from Abruzzo is more than a winery – it's a family story that began in 1890 and continues to this day. Five generations, 130 harvests, one place: the Colline Teramane, nestled between the Apennines and the Adriatic Sea. Here, where the mountain air meets the sea breeze, Montepulciano, Pecorino, and Passerina grapes grow on 110 hectares – all family-owned, all cultivated by the family. From vineyard to bottle, everything happens in one place. You can taste it in the glass: wines that reflect this special piece of land. The family emblem – a crescent moon and a candle – represents what drives Illuminati: bringing light to their own heritage, knowing their roots without getting stuck in the past. Wine as an honest craft, not a glossy, mass-produced product.
