Grappa Sigillo Nero 0.7L

The Sigillo Nero from Bocchino is a grappa from Piedmont that focuses on purity and dryness rather than heaviness.

It is distilled from the pomace of three Piedmontese grape varieties: Barbera d'Asti, Dolcetto d'Alba, and Nebbiolo. It thus stands in the tradition of a region where grappa and viticulture have always gone hand in hand, and from whose Nebbiolo Barolo and Barbaresco are also made. The distillate rests for twelve months in large oak barrels, which give the brandy roundness without defining it.

In the glass, a fine, fragrant aroma appears. On the palate, the grappa is dry and clear. The pomace character remains in the foreground, while the wood stays in the background.

Serve at 12 to 16 °C in a tulip glass, neat and without ice, so that the aroma can unfold. It is suitable as a digestif after a meal, with dark chocolate, or with an espresso at the end of a long evening.

The Distillery

Bocchino

Bocchino has stood for Piedmontese grappa tradition for generations. The distillery from Canelli in the heart of Monferrato processes only fresh pomace from Piedmont – Moscato, Barbera, Nebbiolo – and distills it in small copper stills. The result: characterful grappas with a clear origin, aromatic depth, and a velvety finish. Pure after a meal, slightly tempered at about 14–16 °C.
