Grappa della Cantina Privata 12 Anni 0.7L

This grappa from Piedmont matures for twelve years in wood and belongs to the Riserva della Cantina Privata by Bocchino. The house looks back on a good century of distillation art and fills this line only from a selection of the best vintages.

The pomace consists of 65% Nebbiolo and 35% Moscato d'Asti. The Nebbiolo, the great red wine grape of Piedmont, provides the framework, the Moscato a grapey-floral note. Afterwards, the grappa is stored for twelve years in barriques made of Allier, Limousin, and Tronçais oak. In the glass, a round profile awaits you: oak spice, vanilla, and roasted notes, carried by the fruitiness of the pomace. Fruit and wood stand side by side.

Pour it neat into a tulip glass at room temperature so that the aromas can unfold. Classically, it fits as a digestif after a meal, perhaps with dark chocolate or roasted hazelnuts. A quiet evening to round off a menu is the right occasion, and connoisseurs of aged distillates will be happy to receive it as a gift.

The Distillery

Bocchino

Bocchino has stood for Piedmontese grappa tradition for generations. The distillery from Canelli in the heart of Monferrato processes only fresh pomace from Piedmont – Moscato, Barbera, Nebbiolo – and distills it in small copper stills. The result: characterful grappas with a clear origin, aromatic depth, and a velvety finish. Pure after a meal, slightly tempered at about 14–16 °C.
