Glendalough Canteiro Aged Madeira Finish Single Cask Irish Whiskey (also known as "Glendalough Triple Barrel") is a whiskey that undergoes triple cask maturation. It is first aged for three years in new bourbon barrels, followed by six months in Oloroso sherry casks. Finally, it is finished in Canteiro Madeira casks. These different cask maturations, combined with the Irish maritime climate, impart a very special aroma to the whiskey. The nose reveals a multitude of aromas, ranging from raisins and exotic fruits like mango, pineapple, and orange to marmalade. On the palate, it is complex yet smooth and vibrant. Flavors of raisins, dark cherry, and plum emerge, along with vanilla, sweet grain, and pepper. The finish is equally aromatic, displaying earthy, spicy notes and aromas of stone fruit.
