Ermitage Blanc Ex Voto AC Ermitage 0.75L

The Ermitage Blanc Ex Voto is one of the great white Rhône wines of all — a growth that Guigal only bottles in the best vintages and which occupies a special position even within the house.

The Domaine E. Guigal has been one of the defining names in the northern Rhône valley for decades. The family winery from Ampuis vinifies its top wines with a consistency that finds its white peak in the Ermitage Blanc Ex Voto: exclusively Marsanne from old vines on the granite and loess soils of the Hermitage hill.

In the glass, it shows the typical depth of ripe Marsanne: beeswax, white peach, and acacia honey on the nose, underpinned by a mineral tension that is reminiscent of flint. The palate is dense and oily-textured, the acidity precise enough to give the weight contour. The finish is long, with a hint of almond and dry herbal marrow.

Serving temperature: 13–15 °C. Pairs well with lobster with tarragon butter, sweetbreads, or an aged Comté.

E. Guigal

Maison Guigal – one of the most renowned addresses in the Rhône Valley. Founded in 1946 by Étienne Guigal, in family hands for three generations. From Ampuis, in the heart of the Côte-Rôtie, Guigal focuses on precision and craftsmanship.

The crowning glory: the three legendary single-vineyard wines La Landonne, La Mouline, and La Turque – world-class Syrah wines. Each parcel vinified individually, partly aged in new barriques.

But Guigal is more: Hermitage, Condrieu, Saint-Joseph, Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Everywhere palpable: love for detail and terroir.
