Enate Cabernet Sauvignon DO Reserva 'Gruß Edition'

Enate Cabernet Sauvignon DO Reserva 'Gruß Edition'
This Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva from the 'Gruß Edition' combines Spanish power with French finesse. A profound red wine that bears the signature of a Bordeaux-trained oenologist and displays character through its dense structure in the glass.
Bodega Enate is located in Somontano, nestled at the foot of the Pyrenees. Here, the vines are cultivated according to organic principles in the estate's own vineyards. The renowned winemaker Jesús Artajona, who honed his craft at Château Margaux, among other places, shapes the winery's style: terroir-driven, vibrant, and with a French-inspired elegance. Each bottle also reflects Enate's close connection to contemporary Spanish art.
In the glass, the wine unfolds intense aromas of ripe blackberry and sour cherry. These dark fruit notes are accompanied by earthy tones, a cool hint of mint, and spicy black pepper, vanilla bean, and clove. On the palate, it presents a fresh, clean structure with rounded tannins. Subtle toasty notes and nuances of light Virginia tobacco lead into a long finish, carried by smoky and delicately vegetal hints.
Serve this Reserva at 16–18 °C . It is a suitable accompaniment to hearty meat dishes such as braised leg of lamb, roast beef with dark peppercorn sauce, or aged Manchego cheese.

Founded in 1991 in Somontano, Aragon, Bodega Enate has since become one of the most influential names in the Spanish wine scene, now cultivating 500 hectares of vineyards at the foot of the Pyrenees. What sets Enate apart from other bodegas is its deeply ingrained three-pronged identity: quality winemaking, unwavering sustainability, and a profound connection to contemporary art, which is reflected even in the wine labels. Vineyards at an altitude of around 600 meters, sandy loam soils, and a daily temperature range of up to 15°C ensure slow-ripening grapes with pronounced varietal character. The result is wines that prioritize balance and elegance – not a flashy display, but precise craftsmanship from the heart of Aragon.
