The Eins Zwei Zero dry alcohol-free Riesling displays the typical aromas of lime and citrus fruits, but also surprising notes of rhubarb and red apples, as well as a very refreshing mineral component. For an alcohol-free wine, it exhibits a remarkably long finish. The alcohol is removed from the wine via vacuum evaporation at 27°C. This process is particularly gentle on the aromas, allowing them to largely remain in the wine. The base wine is of estate quality.

How does the Eins Zwei Zero Riesling taste — can you tell there is no alcohol in it?

Lime, citrus, a hint of rhubarb and red apple, plus a mineral freshness. The finish is unusually long for a non-alcoholic wine — the lack of alcohol is less noticeable than in most alternatives.

How is the alcohol removed, and are aromas lost in the process?

Leitz uses vacuum evaporation at only 27 °C — significantly gentler than conventional distillation. The low temperature preserves a large portion of the Riesling aromas that would otherwise be lost during dealcoholization.

What does the wine pair with at the table?

The lively acidity and citrus notes make it a good companion for Asian dishes — whether Thai curry, Vietnamese summer rolls, or slightly spicy wok cuisine. The minerality also stands up well to spicy sauces.

At what temperature should I serve it?

Ideally between 8 and 10 °C — well-chilled, but not ice-cold. This allows the citrus and minerality to come through most clearly without the aromas feeling frozen.

How long does the bottle last after opening?
