Dos Maderas Seleccion Rum

Dos Maderas Selección is a rum from the family of "double-aged" rums by Williams & Humbert – a bodega with a centuries-old sherry tradition in Jerez de la Frontera. This Selección represents the most elaborate maturation stage of the series: longer in the barrel, denser in character than the standard bottlings.

The base consists of rums from Barbados and Guyana, which first mature in the Caribbean in ex-bourbon barrels. Subsequently, the blend travels to Jerez and spends additional years there in selected Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry barrels from the bodega's own stock – a process that Williams & Humbert calls "doble envejecimiento".

In the glass, it reveals dark caramel, dried fig, and a hint of orange peel, behind which lie roasted notes of coffee and dark chocolate from the barrel. On the palate, it is dense and oily, with a long finish of raisins, nut wood, and a fine spice.

Best enjoyed neat at room temperature or with a drop of water to open up the barrel notes. It also works well as a digestif after a meal or in a classic Rum Old Fashioned.

Williams & Humbert

Williams & Humbert is one of the great names of Jerez – founded in 1877, today one of the most traditional houses in Andalusia.

From the extensive bodegas in Jerez de la Frontera come sherries that cover the entire spectrum of the solera art: from bone-dry Fino to dark, nutty Oloroso.

The characteristic combination of Atlantic climate, Albariza chalk soils, and decades of barrel aging makes every sip a piece of Jerez history.
