Domaine de Montrose Chardonnay

An uncomplicated Chardonnay from the Languedoc — fresh, direct and without any detours to enjoyment.

Domaine de Montrose is located in the heart of the Languedoc, near Béziers. The region is one of France's largest wine-growing areas and has shed its mass-production image in recent decades. Montrose focuses on single-varietal blends that reflect the Mediterranean character of the garrigue landscape.

In the glass, the Chardonnay displays a pale yellow color with greenish reflections. The nose offers citrus aromas—primarily lemon and grapefruit—along with white peach and a subtle floral note. On the palate, it is fresh and light-bodied, with lively acidity and a clean, short finish. No oak notes, no buttery character—a clear, straightforward style.

Domaine de Montrose

The roots of Domaine de Montrose stretch back to the 16th century and are intertwined with a rich history. Since 1701, the family crest of three lizards has adorned all Montrose bottles, symbolizing the family's ownership and heritage. Today, the estate is run with great dedication by Bernard and Olivier Coste. The vineyards are located near the charming town of Pézenas and are inspired by the family's maxim, borrowed from the poet Sappho: "What is beautiful is good. And whoever is good will soon be beautiful." This inspiring maxim is translated by father and son into their rosé, white, and red wines. Domaine de Montrose wines are characterized by their fragrant elegance and are considered a benchmark for high-quality rosé wines from the Languedoc. They are crafted with great care and passion to create true beauties. Every drop reflects the family's commitment and the unique characteristics of the Languedoc terroir. Immerse yourself in the world of Domaine de Montrose and discover their fascinating wines, which embody the union of beauty and quality.
