Cornas Chante-Perdrix AC 1.5L

The Cornas Chante-Perdrix from Delas is a single-varietal Syrah from the northern Rhône: dark-fruited, spicy, and with a powerful pull. This bottling comes in a magnum (1.5 l) and is suitable for larger dinner parties.

The grapes come from various fully south-facing plots of the Cornas appellation and are harvested by hand according to terroir. After three days of cold maceration, the wine ferments traditionally in open concrete tanks; the maceration time can last up to 20 days. It then matures for 12 to 14 months in oak wood; regular racking rounds off the tannins.

In the glass, cassis and dark fruit appear; with a little air, pepper and licorice are added. The wine is dry and has structure and depth. We recommend it at 16 to 18 °C with braised lamb, grilled entrecôte, or a mature hard cheese. Decant it beforehand so it can fully unfold in the glass.

The Domaine

Delas

Maison Delas Frères – the soul of the Rhône Valley. A traditional house since 1835, but 1996 brought the turning point. Fabrice Rosset and oenologist Jacques Grange took over – and made Delas one of the "big four" of the Rhône.

Grange, with Burgundian experience, focuses on elegance instead of pure power. Parcel-by-parcel vinification, uncompromising terroir focus. 32 hectares of their own top sites: Hermitage, Saint-Joseph, Crozes-Hermitage. The result: wines with freshness, depth, and character.

In 2019, Delas moved into the new cellar vault in Tain-l'Hermitage – after almost 190 years into the light, where it has long belonged. Rhône as it tastes.
