Coppola Diamond Collection Merlot
An approachable Californian Merlot from the house of Hollywood director Francis Ford Coppola — full-bodied, uncomplicated and suitable for everyday use.
The Francis Ford Coppola Winery in Geyserville, Sonoma County, combines grapes from several renowned California wine regions: Napa Valley, Sonoma County, Monterey, and Paso Robles. The Diamond Collection is the winery's entry-level label, aiming for broad accessibility—crafted with solid expertise and a clear focus on fruit and drinkability.
In the glass, the wine displays a rich, deep red color. The nose is dominated by ripe and sour cherry, underpinned by bourbon vanilla and a hint of dark plum. On the palate, it is full-bodied with soft, well-integrated tannins and moderate acidity—a style that prioritizes smoothness over tension. The finish is short to medium-long and slightly sweet.
Serving suggestion: Drink now, no storage potential. Serving temperature 16–18 °C. Pairs well with pasta with tomato sauce, grilled burgers or mild cheddar — an uncomplicated everyday companion.

The world-renowned director purchased the magnificent Niebaum Cottage in Rutherford (Nappe Valley) back in 1979, originally intended as a weekend retreat. After its renovation, the opportunity for viticulture was seized, and this quickly proved fruitful. This led to the creation of the two product lines, Rosso & Blanco and Diamond Collection, which are still in production today. The Rosso & Blanco line, in particular, is a tribute to his Italian roots. In 1998, Corey Beck joined the winery, rising to the position of director and, in 2014, being appointed president of Francis Ford Coppola Winery.
