Director's Cut Chardonnay Sonoma Coast

Francis Ford Coppola's love of wine is rooted in his Italian heritage. His grandfather had grapes shipped from California and used them to make wine in his New York cellar during Prohibition. The Family Coppola Sonoma County Chardonnay evokes a basket of ripe fruit, accompanied by vanilla aromas. It reveals notes of pear, baked apple, and vanilla. On the palate, hints of orange peel, vanilla, and spicy nuances emerge. The finish is long and smooth. The wine was aged in barriques.

Francis Ford Coppola Winery

The world-renowned director purchased the magnificent Niebaum Cottage in Rutherford (Nappe Valley) back in 1979, originally intended as a weekend retreat. After its renovation, the opportunity for viticulture was seized, and this quickly proved fruitful. This led to the creation of the two product lines, Rosso & Blanco and Diamond Collection, which are still in production today. The Rosso & Blanco line, in particular, is a tribute to his Italian roots. In 1998, Corey Beck joined the winery, rising to the position of director and, in 2014, being appointed president of Francis Ford Coppola Winery.
