Château Chasse Spleen L'Oratoire de Chasse-Spleen Magnum
Château Chasse-Spleen L'Oratoire de Chasse-Spleen Magnum is the more approachable, charming side of Chasse-Spleen – with the typical Moulis character, but somewhat looser, ready to drink earlier, and immediately captivating. In the magnum, it seems even a touch rounder and calmer, because more time in the bottle smooths out the rough edges and the fruit comes together more beautifully.
In the glass, it displays dark berries, cassis, and plum, along with hints of cedar, tobacco, and a subtle spicy depth reminiscent of classic Bordeaux. On the palate, it is juicy with good drive, polished tannins, and an elegant, not-too-heavy finish – exactly the kind of wine that improves with aeration yet is enjoyable even at a young age.
The magnum not only gives the wine a more commanding presence on the table, but also more composure in the glass: ideal for a longer meal, for aged beef, lamb, braised dishes, or simply an evening when you want a serious but not stiff Bordeaux. Served at 16–18 °C, it reveals itself at its best – powerful enough to command attention, yet refined enough for repeated enjoyment.
