Roseri Chiaretto Riviera del Garda Classico Valtenesi DOP

The Roseri Chiaretto Riviera del Garda Classico Valtenesi DOP from Cà Maiol is no ordinary rosé — it is a piece of Lake Garda tradition, produced for generations according to the same conviction: elegance needs no compromises.

Roseri owes its name to the delicate rosebud fragrance that unfolds in the glass. Vinified from the four classic red grape varieties of the region— Groppello, Marzemino, Sangiovese, and Barbera —this Chiaretto showcases the potential of the clay soils of Basso Garda: mineral depth, floral aroma, and a structure that clearly distinguishes it from fleeting summer rosés.

The production follows an old method: After harvesting, the grapes are cold-macerated at a low temperature and spend exactly one night in contact with the grape skins—hence the poetic nickname "Wine of a Night." This short, controlled maceration gives the must its characteristic color, body, and longevity without masking its delicate fruitiness.

The Roseri unfolds most beautifully at:

  • grilled lake trout or salmon fillet
  • light pasta dishes with seafood
  • Antipasti from Lake Garda — Bresaola, pickled vegetables, mild goat cheese
  • a simple evening on the terrace, without any particular occasion

Serve it well chilled at around 10–12 °C. A white wine glass with a narrow bowl best emphasizes the aromas.

Cà Maiol

Cà Maiol is an Italian winery founded in 1967 by Walter Contato. The family business is now run by the second generation, Fabio and Patrizia Contato. Located at the southern end of Lake Garda, the winery owns approximately 140 hectares of vineyards with calcareous clay soils. Thanks to its proximity to Lake Garda, the region also enjoys a very mild climate. Among the grape varieties cultivated are Trbbiano di Lugano, Marzemino, Gropello, and Sangiovese.
