Blaufränkisch Ungerberg QW Burgenland 0.75L
The Ungerberg is one of the most renowned single vineyards in Burgenland — a south-southwest exposed hillside that gives the Blaufränkisch the warmth and ripeness this grape variety needs to unfold its full spectrum. Weingut Paul Achs is one of the defining addresses on Lake Neusiedl, manages its vineyards organically, and has specialized in varietal, site-typical wines.
In the glass, this Blaufränkisch shows dark berry fruit — blackberry, black cherry — with a spicy undertone of black pepper and violets, plus a fine mineral vein that gives the site its character. The tannins are present but well-integrated, the acidity gives the wine backbone and freshness, the finish is long and slightly earthy.
Goes well with braised beef, game goulash, or ripe mountain cheese. Serving temperature: 16–18 °C.

Weingut Paul Achs from Gols in Burgenland works according to a simple but consistent conviction: Man does not shape the wine – the soil does.
The winery has been in family hands for generations. Paul Achs and his team rely on patience instead of control, on manual labor instead of technology. The vineyards around Gols – with their layers of limestone, loam and clay – provide the raw material. The winemaker listens. The result is wines with depth, finesse and genuine origin. Especially the Blaufränkisch Altenberg shows what this philosophy can do.
