Allesverloren Cabernet Sauvignon

Allesverloren Cabernet Sauvignon isn't a wine that clamors for attention—it simply has it. Anyone looking for South African red wines with genuine character will find here a classic from the Swartland region that impressively combines tradition and craftsmanship.

In the glass, it shines a deep ruby red with violet reflections. The nose is inviting: ripe cassis, dark berries, a delicate hint of mint and bell pepper, and a touch of undergrowth. On the palate, it shows what makes a well-made Cabernet Sauvignon: a dense body, integrated tannins, and a long, spicy finish that lingers in the memory.

Allesverloren is one of the oldest wineries in South Africa. The Swartland region, with its ancient soils and dry climate, gives this wine a depth and maturity that can be tasted in the bottle. For generations, the winemakers here have stood for red wines that don't focus on short-term appeal, but on honest substance.

  • Origin: Swartland, South Africa
  • Grape variety: Cabernet Sauvignon
  • Color: deep ruby red with violet reflections

It unfolds its full potential best with grilled lamb, a braised beef roast, or mature hard cheeses . Those who wish to enjoy it on a simple evening should decant it for a good hour before serving—it will reward them with openness and depth.

Allesverlorn Wine Estate

All Lost – a name steeped in history. In the 17th century, the governor of the Cape granted the land to the widow Cloete. She was one of the first women to venture into the Swartland. In 1704, she traveled alone to Stellenbosch – upon her return, she found her farm and house burned to the ground. Thus, the sad name originated. But from this tragedy, a jewel grew. The first grapes were harvested in 1806, and the estate has been in the Malan family for over 140 years. Today, it comprises 227 hectares and produces wines with international acclaim. A fortunate destiny – despite everything.
