Aberlour 10 Years Single Malt Whiskey Forest Reserve
Aberlour Forest Reserve is a Speyside single malt with three-stage cask maturation — a combination that is rare in this price range.
The Aberlour Distillery lies at the foot of Ben Rinnes in the heart of Speyside. Founded in 1879, it now belongs to the Pernod Ricard group, but maintains its artisanal approach: its own spring water, traditional copper stills, and a distinctive cask program. The label bears the designation Highland —geographically accurate, as Speyside is officially part of the Highland region. In terms of flavor, the whisky clearly adheres to the fruity, cask-driven Speyside style.
For ten years, the wine matures in parallel in bourbon and oloroso sherry casks—vanilla and light fruit from the bourbon, prune and nougat from the sherry. This is followed by a second maturation in French oak casks , which adds a spicy, woody note to the finish. Soft and medium-bodied on the palate, with flavors of dried apricot, milk chocolate, and a hint of ginger on the finish.
Neat at room temperature or with a small sip of water — both unlock the fruit's potential. Also suitable as an introduction to the world of sherry cask malts.
