Tequila

Tequila belongs to the spirit mezcal. Mezcal stands for the general term for spirits made from agave. As is well known, tequila comes from Mexico, from the city of the same name, Tequila. The spirit usually has an alcohol content between 38% and 40%. For tequila, two different qualities are decisive according to the regulatory authority Consejo Regulador del Tequila A.C. On the one hand, one speaks of the quality Mixto. Mixto includes that at least 51% of the sugar for the production of the alcohol comes from the blue agave. The remaining use of sugar can have a different origin, such as cane sugar. A tequila of Mixto quality may be bottled in bottles and tanks. In contrast, a tequila of the other quality may only be bottled in bottles. This quality has a sugar content of 100% from the blue agave.
