Two hundred winegrowing families passionately cultivate 230 hectares of prime vineyards between the Überetsch and Unterland regions – on mineral-rich moraine soils at altitudes of 400 to 550 meters. Cellar master Gerhard Kofler maintains close contact with each winegrower, the foundation for uncompromising quality. As early as 1950, they pioneered the introduction of quality-based payment – revolutionary at the time! Behind these time-honored walls lies state-of-the-art cellar technology. From elegant white wines to powerful reds, South Tyrolean wines are produced here, ranking among the best of their kind internationally.

Two hundred winegrowing families jointly cultivate around 230 hectares of vineyards on mineral-rich moraine soils at an altitude of 400 to 550 meters – a location that imparts freshness, structure, and a delicate minerality to the wines.

Cellar master Gerhard Kofler knows every winemaker personally. This relationship is not a marketing promise, but the foundation of a quality policy that Girlan established as early as 1950: As pioneers, they introduced quality-dependent payment – a model that is commonplace in the industry today, but was anything but back then.

In the cellar, historic building fabric meets modern technology. The result is wines that clearly reflect the character of their origin: white wine-forward, with depth – from aromatic Pinot Blanc and Gewürztraminer blends to dense Vernatsch and Lagrein red wines that fully exploit the potential of South Tyrolean vineyards.
