Chateau Montlabert
Château Montlabert –
Saint-Émilion with attitude and heritage
Château Montlabert lies in the heart of Saint-Émilion – 21 hectares divided into nineteen parcels surrounding the château. The sandy, blue-clay soil gives the Merlot its smoothness and the Cabernet Franc its characteristic spiciness. Three-quarters of the area goes into the main wine.
Since 2008, the estate has been part of the Castel Group. With Hubert de Boüard, one of the leading figures on the Right Bank, as a consultant, the focus was consistently shifted towards organic farming – today Montlabert holds the Terra Vitis certification. In 2017, a second parcel in Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes was added, whose grapes are used to produce the second wine.
What is created here is not an off-the-shelf Bordeaux: clear origin, meticulous craftsmanship and a terroir that can be felt in the glass.
