Weissburgunder Qualitätswein trocken "S"

A Pinot Blanc that shows what the Nahe region is capable of: not soft pleasingness, but tension, grip and an unusually mineral depth.

Emrich-Schönleber in Monzingen is one of the most renowned wineries in the Nahe region – known for its world-class Rieslings from steep slopes, but also for its precise, characterful Pinot Blancs. The winery is run by Frank Schönleber and his son Patrick, and the vineyards lie on weathered slate and porphyry – a soil that imparts a distinctive minerality to the wine.

On the nose, firm yellow pear, quince, and a hint of hazelnut – underpinned by a herbal, vegetal note and a distinct minerality. On the palate, clearly structured: juicy fruit with lively acidity that keeps the wine taut without making it harsh. A subtle red berry note in the background enlivens the aromatics. Long, grippy finish with lingering minerality.

Serving temperature 10–12 °C. Pairs well with grilled turbot, asparagus with hollandaise sauce, or a mature Comté cheese. Also a good choice with Asian-spiced poultry. Drinking window: now until 2027.
