A Pinot Blanc that shows what the Nahe is capable of: no soft pleasantness, but tension, grip, and an unusually mineral depth.

Emrich-Schönleber in Monzingen is one of the most renowned wineries in the Nahe – known for world-class steep-slope Rieslings, but also for precise, characterful Pinot Blancs. The winery is managed by Frank Schönleber and his son Patrick; the vineyards are located on weathered slate and porphyry – a soil that gives the wine this unmistakable minerality.

On the nose, firm yellow pear, quince, and a hint of hazelnut – underscored by a herbal-vegetal note and distinct stone flair. Clearly structured on the palate: juicy fruit with lively acidity that keeps the wine taut without making it feel harsh. In the background, a slightly red-berry tone that enlivens the aromatics. Long, grippy finish with persistent minerality.

Serving temperature 10–12 °C. Pairs well with grilled turbot, asparagus with hollandaise sauce, or an aged Comté. Also a good choice as a companion to Asian-spiced poultry.
