Vint Private Selection Cabernet Sauvignon

An approachable Cabernet Sauvignon from California that focuses on drinking pleasure: full-bodied, with soft tannins and a clear fruit profile.

Robert Mondavi had a lasting impact on Californian winemaking in the second half of the 20th century. In 1994, he launched Private Selection – a line designed to make high-quality wine accessible to a wider audience. Vint is the current expression of this idea: Winemaker Glen Caughell uses grapes from across California to create a Cabernet Sauvignon blend with a clearly defined profile.

In the cellar, Caughell combines fermentation in stainless steel tanks with extended maceration – this promotes color depth and tannin structure. The wine then matures in French and American oak, which contributes its characteristic spiciness.

In the glass, it displays dark blackberry and black cherry, along with a hint of vanilla and subtle oak spice on the finish. The tannins remain velvety, the structure pleasing – not a heavyweight, but an uncomplicated everyday wine with a solid backbone.

Robert Mondavi

Robert Mondavi Winery embodies one of the most consequential ideas in modern wine history: that Napa Valley can compete with the world's great wine regions. Since its founding in 1966, the winery in Oakville, California, has worked toward precisely that goal – and proven it.

At its heart lies the legendary To Kalon Vineyard , one of North America's most prestigious vineyards. Here grows the Cabernet Sauvignon that made the estate famous: structured, age-worthy, with the unmistakable profile of Oakville soils.
