Villa Raiano Falanghina Beneventano IGT
Falanghina is one of the oldest grape varieties in Campania — and Villa Raiano shows why it has been appreciated since antiquity: fresh, aromatic, with a clear origin profile from the Beneventano.
The Villa Raiano winery is located in Sant'Angelo all'Esca in the heart of Irpinia, the viticultural heart of the region. The Basso family farms their vineyards on volcanic soils with clay-limestone components — exactly the environment that gives Falanghina its characteristic minerality and liveliness. The grapes for this IGT Beneventano come from lower-lying sites, which give the variety early-ripening aromatics and accessibility.
In the glass, a bright straw yellow appears. On the nose, pineapple, white peach, and citrus blossom, behind it a mineral undertone. On the palate, fresh acidity, medium body, clean finish with a slight bitter almond note — typical for the variety and not a flaw, but a stylistic feature.
