Villa Raiano Falanghina Beneventano IGT

Falanghina is one of the oldest grape varieties in Campania — and Villa Raiano shows why it has been appreciated since antiquity: fresh, aromatic, with a clear origin profile from the Beneventano.

The Villa Raiano winery is located in Sant'Angelo all'Esca, in the heart of Irpinia, the region's winemaking center. The Basso family cultivates their vineyards on volcanic soils with clay-limestone components—precisely the environment that gives Falanghina its characteristic minerality and vibrancy. The grapes for this IGT Beneventano come from lower-lying vineyards, which impart early-ripening aromatics and approachability to the variety.

In the glass, it displays a pale straw yellow color. The nose offers aromas of pineapple, white peach, and citrus blossom, with a mineral undertone. On the palate, it presents fresh acidity, a medium body, and a clean finish with a subtle bitter almond note—typical of the variety and not a flaw, but rather a stylistic characteristic.
