Thüngersheim Johannisberg Rothlauf Silvaner GG

In the steepest part of the Thüngersheimer Johannisberg, there is a small plot that has always been called Rothlauf. The stony shell limestone soil is interspersed with variegated sandstone, which pushes to the surface here and there. Thus, two of the geological formations that originated in the Franconian Triassic are found right next to each other. This gives the wines grown on it a special character: they are very filigree and impress with their elegant play. In the glass, fine aromas of yellow fruit appear, accompanied by herbal spice as well as clear minerality reminiscent of flint; complex and deep, this wine nevertheless remains appealing and light on the palate.

Bickel-Stumpf

VDP Member Estate

Bickel-Stumpf – a small, fine family winery from Franconia. Two special sites, two characters: The Mönchshof in Frickenhausen on barren shell limestone by the river. The Rothlauf on the Thüngersheimer Johannisberg on colored sandstone.

The result? Mönchshof wines: full-bodied, profound, with Burgundian elegance. Rothlauf wines: delicate, straightforward, remain in the memory for a long time.
