The Blend

“The Blend” is Vinoscout’s own red wine cuvée — born from long-standing relationships with partner winemakers in the Western Cape. Cabernet Franc forms the backbone of this cuvée and demonstrates what South Africa can achieve with this grape variety: more warmth than in the Loire, but with a clear structure and freshness.

The Western Cape is one of the most diverse wine regions in the Southern Hemisphere. Cool sea breezes from the Atlantic and Indian Oceans temper the heat, and the soils vary between granite, schist, and sandstone. Cabernet Franc thrives here, developing deep color and aromatic intensity.

In the glass, dark cherry and blackberry aromas are revealed, along with a characteristic hint of green bell pepper and graphite—typical of Cabernet Franc. The body is medium-full, the tannins present but not harsh, and the finish dry and spicy. Serving temperature: 16–18 °C. Pairs well with leg of lamb, grilled beef steak, or strong hard cheeses.
