Teliani Valley Saperavi Unfiltered
Saperavi is one of the oldest red wine grape varieties in the world – and one of the few where the pulp is also red. This gives this wine from the Kakheti Valley a depth and color intensity that is immediately noticeable in the glass.
Teliani Valley is one of Georgia's most renowned wineries, located in eastern Kakheti – the region that produces around 70% of all Georgian wines. Bottling as an unfiltered wine is a conscious decision: it preserves more of the grape variety's natural extracts, tannins, and aromatic potential.
In the glass, it displays a deep ruby red color with violet reflections. The nose is dominated by blackberry and black plum, with a hint of pomegranate – typical of Saperavi from this region. On the palate, it offers firm but structured tannins, medium acidity, and a long, slightly spicy finish.
Serving temperature: 16–18 °C. Pairs well with grilled lamb, brisket, hearty stews, or spicy hard cheeses. If desired, decant the bottle briefly before opening – this allows the tannins to breathe and noticeably rounds out the wine.
