Teliani Valley

Teliani Valley – wine with history. In the 19th century, Mikhail Romanov, brother of the Russian Tsar, had a large wine cellar built. In the 1880s, winemaker Antoin Mossano came to Georgia from Bordeaux – and stayed for nine years. He was the first to process Georgian grape varieties using European techniques. He sent his "Teliani" wine, made from Cabernet Sauvignon, to the Tsar – and became famous. Today, Teliani Valley cultivates these traditional vineyards. Ancient Georgian grape varieties, processed using both traditional and modern methods. Georgian wine culture – at its finest.

Tsar's wine from the Caucasus –
Teliani Valley

When Bordeaux winemaker Antoine Mossano arrived in Georgia in the 1880s, European cellar techniques met the ancient grape varieties of Kakheti. His Cabernet Sauvignon "Teliani" even reached the Tsar's court. Teliani Valley still cultivates these historic vineyards today.
