Tarón Reserva DOCa Rioja 0.75L

Tarón Reserva DOCa Rioja 0.75L
The Tarón Reserva from the Rioja Alta is a classic Rioja with the weight and depth one expects from an aged Reserva – structured, spicy, with a long finish.
Bodegas Tarón works in the Rioja Alta, the cooler, higher-lying part of the appellation, where the soils of calcareous clay and the continental location ensure natural acidity and aging potential. The Reserva follows the strict DOCa requirements: at least three years of aging time, including one year in the barrel and one year in the bottle. Mazuelo is used here – a grape variety known in the Rioja as a blending partner, but which brings its own depth and tannin structure as a main grape variety.
In the glass, it shows ruby red with good depth. The nose opens with blackberry, blueberry, and dried plum, plus dates and a hint of dark chocolate. On the palate, firm but ripe tannins, supported by a lively acidity – typical for the Rioja Alta. The finish is long, slightly spicy with a touch of tobacco and leather.
Best served at 16–18 °C. Pairs with leg of lamb with herbs, Ibérico chorizo, or a strong Manchego.
