Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore DOC

Speri's Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore is a red wine with real character: deep fruit, spicy depth and a structure that elevates it far above the typical Ripasso level.

Speri Viticoltori is one of the most traditional family wineries in Valpolicella Classico—the historic heartland west of Verona. The family has cultivated their vineyards for generations, focusing on the authentic expression of the Corvina grape variety. For their Ripasso, Speri deliberately uses only Amarone pomace for a single pass—even though DOC regulations permit two passes. This approach preserves the wine's elegance: it absorbs structure and depth from the pomace without becoming heavy or over-extracted.

In the glass, it displays dark cherry, blackberry, and dried plum, underpinned by notes from the barrel aging: cinnamon, dark chocolate, and a hint of tobacco. The tannins are firm yet velvety, the acidity well-integrated—a long, spicy, and dry finish.

Speri Viticoltori

Sometimes all it takes is a family secret passed down through seven generations. That's exactly what you'll experience at Speri Viticoltori in the heart of Valpolicella. Since 1874, the family has dedicated themselves to winemaking with passion and vision – today with 60 hectares of vineyards and an impressive philosophy: only their own grapes, only organic farming, and only native grape varieties such as Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara.

Their masterpiece? The Amarone Sant'Urbano , which, after 24 months of aging in oak barrels, impresses with its elegance and depth. But the Ripasso , with its spicy aromas of clove and cinnamon, is also an experience. These wines aren't loud, they whisper – and that's precisely what makes them so special.
