Produktbeschreibung

Twelve bottles, one wine, one clear conviction: Anyone who has ever tasted the Diciotto Colline Primitivo di Manduria Riserva DOC from Torrevento will immediately reach for the case next time. This package isn't about trying it sight unseen, but rather a conscious stockpiling of a wine that grew in Apulia and fully developed its character there—dark, warm, and with depth.

Torrevento is one of the leading producers around Castel del Monte and has been cultivating the unique characteristics of Primitivo for decades. For their Diciotto Colline, they use fully ripened grapes from the hinterland of Manduria, one of the classic growing areas for this grape variety in southern Apulia. Riserva aging in oak barrels tames what can otherwise make Primitivo a bit heavy: the result is a deep, dark red wine with aromas of blackberry, plum, and dried figs, along with vanilla and a hint of cedar. On the palate, it is dense but not heavy—the tannins are soft, the finish long and slightly cocoa-like. 93 points in Falstaff and a gold medal at Mundus Vini 2025 for the 2018 vintage speak for themselves.

Pairs well with: braised lamb, venison ragù with pappardelle, grilled entrecôte, or mature pecorino. Serve at 16–18 °C , decant one hour before drinking. Those who age individual bottles for two to three years will be rewarded with additional depth and integration—the potential is there.

Twelve bottles mean a supply without the stress of reordering: one bottle for Tuesday evening, one for Sunday roast, one as a gift. The price advantage compared to buying them individually makes the package particularly attractive for anyone who wants to not only get to know this wine but also drink it regularly.
