Short Street Chenin Blanc alcohol-free

Alcohol-free, but not lacking in flavor: The Short Street Chenin Blanc from Riebeek Valley Wine Co. shows what South African Chenin Blanc can achieve even without alcohol — fruity, lively, with real character in the glass.

The Riebeek Valley Wine Co. is located in the Swartland, one of South Africa's most exciting wine regions. The valley surrounding Riebeekberg is known for its old bush vines, dry climate, and intense fruit ripening—ideal conditions for Chenin Blanc, the region's flagship grape variety. The alcohol-free version is produced through a gentle dealcoholization process that preserves the fruit aromas as much as possible.

In the glass, it displays a bright, yellow-green color. The nose offers aromas of passion fruit, ripe peach, and a hint of nutmeg—typical of the Swartland's abundant fruit ripening. On the palate, it is light, with fresh acidity and a pleasant sweetness that balances the finish. The addition of Muscat gives the wine an aromatic spiciness that distinguishes it from purely Muscat-style alternatives.
