Seckinger Maikammer Chardonnay

Seckinger Maikammer Chardonnay
From the Palatinate vineyards of Kapellenberg and Paradies in Maikammer – two names that evoke dry limestone-loam soil and a southern Palatinate climate. Brothers Jonas, Philipp, and Lukas Seckinger, who founded their winery in 2012, process their Chardonnay as directly as possible: direct pressing, no pre-clarification, spontaneous fermentation in used barriques and tonneaux, and bottled unfiltered with minimal sulfur.
On the nose, the wine initially displays a slightly reductive and vibrant character – minerality and herbs precede delicate floral and citrus notes, along with a hint of apricot. On the palate, it is taut and precise: ripe acidity without harshness, a fine texture from the oak aging, and delicate tannins. The finish is saline and long.
Serving temperature 11–13 °C. Pairs well with grilled sea bass with fennel , sweetbreads or a mature mountain cheese from the Allgäu region.
