Schlatter Spätburgunder "SW" QbA dry

A Pinot Noir with a clear signature: firm structure, lively fruit and a smoky-chocolatey depth that elevates it far above its entry-level price point.

Martin Waßmer is one of the most precise red winemakers in the Markgräflerland region. His winery in Bad Krozingen works with consistently low yields and targeted use of oak – the "SW" represents the more approachable style of the estate, without sacrificing character.

On the nose, it displays cherry, cold smoke, and a subtle steely note that immediately sharpens its character. The palate then offers red berry fruit – raspberry, sour cherry – with toasty notes and hints of hazelnut chocolate in the background. The body is firm, the tannins velvety, the acidity invigorating without any harshness. The finish remains fresh and lingers with that final smoky note.

Serving temperature: 16–17 °C. Pairs well with duck breast with cherries, grilled lamb chops, or a strong mountain cheese. Ready to drink now, but will keep easily until 2028.
