Chadonnay "SW" QbA dry barrique
Chardonnay "SW" QbA dry Barrique is a German quality wine from the Baden region, produced by the Martin Waßmer winery. The wine is based on 100% Chardonnay, is produced as a dry white wine and is aged at least partially in barrique barrels, which gives it a creamy texture and fine oak complexity.
In the glass, it displays a vibrant, golden straw yellow with a slight greenish hue. The nose is aromatically rich, with notes of ripe apples, pear, citrus fruits, and a touch of pineapple, combined with delicate vanilla and almond notes from the barrique. On the palate, the Chardonnay is full-bodied, silky, and balanced, with clear yet well-integrated acidity, a creamy texture, and a long, lingering finish bursting with fruit and subtle spice.
The alcohol content is typically around 13.5% ABV; the wine is ideally served at 10–12 °C. It pairs well with light meats, grilled chicken, creamy fish or asparagus dishes, and mild, creamy cheeses. Thanks to its structure and aging in barriques, it is also suitable for several years of cellaring, during which time the aromas can further harmonize.
