“Rio delle Rose” Chardonnay Colli Orientali del Friuli DOC
A Chardonnay that showcases the fresh, mineral side of Friuli – not a woody monster, but a straightforward white wine with drive and depth.
The Colli Orientali del Friuli in northeastern Italy are among the most exciting white wine regions in Europe. Limestone and marl soils, cool nights thanks to the Alpine air, and warm days from the Adriatic Sea – the result is wines with pronounced minerality and natural freshness. Antonio Bragato harnesses this potential for a Chardonnay that prioritizes grape fruit over cellar technique.
On the nose, apple, quince, and citrus peel, along with white blossoms and a light hint of pineapple – ripe, but never heavy. On the palate, powerful with a juicy acidity and a fine minerality that carries through to the long, delicately melting finish.
Serving suggestion: Well chilled at 10–12 °C. Pairs well with grilled sea bass, seafood linguine, or a young pecorino cheese. It also makes a great aperitif with antipasti. Drink now until 2027.
