Reserve Mouton Cadet Médoc Bordeaux
Pure Médoc: dark fruit, structured tannins, and that typical touch of licorice that makes good Bordeaux so unmistakable.
Mouton Cadet is one of the best-known Bordeaux négociants of all — founded in 1930 by Baron Philippe de Rothschild, who wanted to make high-quality Bordeaux accessible to a wide audience with the brand. The Réserve line is one step above the classic: more selective in grape choice, aged longer, with more ambition in the glass.
Dense purple-red in the glass. On the nose, the wine opens with black currant and licorice, plus a slight acidic undertone that signals freshness. More present on the palate than expected – juicy forest berries, plum, and a hint of cherry carry through the finish, which remains round and persistently aromatic. The tannins are firm but without harshness.
- Temperature: 16–18 °C
- Food: Leg of lamb with herbs, grilled entrecôte, mature Cantal or Comté
