Recas Solara Orange Wine

Recas Solara Orange Wine
Orange wine from Romania – this is not a trendy experiment, but a method with a history spanning millennia: white wine grapes are macerated with skin contact, which gives this wine its characteristic amber color, tannin structure and aromatic depth.
Cramele Recas in Banat is one of Romania's largest and most renowned wineries. The region near the Serbian border combines a continental climate with a long winemaking tradition – hot summers bring ripe fruit, while the cool nights preserve the acidity.
In the glass, Solara displays a deep golden color. The nose offers aromas of candied apricot, dried herbs, and a hint of beeswax. On the palate, the maceration process gives it a more structured character than a classic white wine – subtle tannins, medium acidity, and a long finish with a touch of spice.
Recommendations:
- Serving temperature: 14–16 °C – pour more like a light red wine
- Goes well with grilled vegetables, hummus, feta or spicy poultry
- Also convincing as an aperitif with olives and nuts
