Nipozzano Vecchie Viti Chianti Rufina Riserva

The Nipozzano Vecchie Viti Riserva is dedicated in particular to the descendants of the Frescobaldi family. For every newborn, a private collection of 500 bottles of this impressive wine is set aside and stored in a very special area of the wine cellar. The vintage of the wine corresponds to the birth year of the descendant.

The grapes for the production of the Nipozzano Vecchie Viti come from the oldest vineyards around the Castello di Nipozzano. The grape varieties are 90% Sangiovese and 10% other permitted complementary grape varieties such as Malvasia Nera, Colorino, and Canaiolo. The red wine matures for 24 months in oak barrels and another three months in the bottle, during which it can unfold its full complexity and harmony.

Frescobaldi

Marchesi de' Frescobaldi is one of the great names in Tuscany – and has been for around 700 years. Today, the family manages nine individual estates, from the cool Apennine slopes of Pomino and Chianti Rufina to the Maremma coast, clearly bringing the characteristics of each terroir into the bottle.

Tiziana, Lamberto, and Diana Frescobaldi lead the house in the 30th generation with the same standards as their ancestors: taking tradition seriously without skimping on development. Since 2012, all estates have held the AgriQualità certification from the Tuscany region; Castello Nipozzano and Castello Pomino were also the first Tuscan wineries with PEFC certification for sustainable forest management.
