Nik Weis Gold Drop Cabinet

The Goldtröpfchen vineyard in Piesport is one of the most historically significant steep slopes on the Moselle – Roman wine presses from the 3rd century prove that this hillside has been producing Riesling for almost 2,000 years. Blue Devonian slate stores heat during the day and releases it at night; the light reflections from the Moselle further ensure even ripening.

Nik Weis's Kabinett showcases what makes this vineyard so special: tropical fruit, a spicy, smoky minerality, and a lively acidity that balances the residual sweetness. Light-bodied, but by no means shallow.

Classic recommendation: Thai curry, Vietnamese pho, or Indian tikka masala — the sweet and sour balance cuts through the spiciness and flavor. Also excellent with strong blue cheese or smoked salmon. Serving temperature 8–10 °C.
