Muratie Alberta Annemarie Merlot

Muratie Alberta Annemarie Merlot
A Merlot from the heart of Stellenbosch – dense, soft and with the typical smoothness of the grape variety, behind which lies more structure than the first sip suggests.
Muratie Wine Estate is one of the oldest wineries in South Africa. Wine has been made on the Knorhoek slope in Stellenbosch since 1685 – today it is owned by the Melck family, who have carefully managed the estate for decades. The Alberta Annemarie line bears the name of former female owners of the estate and represents artisanal winemaking with respect for the terroir.
In the glass, it shines a deep ruby red. The nose offers ripe plum, blackberry, and a hint of dried bell pepper. On the palate, soft, velvety tannins, a core of dark cherry and mocha, followed by a subtle spiciness that carries the long, warm finish.
