Librandi Ciro Bianco DOC
Greco Bianco is one of the oldest grape varieties in Calabria – and Librandi uses it to make a white wine that perfectly embodies what southern Italy needs on a hot day: freshness, lightness, uncomplicated enjoyment.
The Librandi winery is one of the most renowned in Calabria and has played a significant role in reviving the region's indigenous grape varieties – including Gaglioppo and Greco Bianco – from obscurity. The Cirò Bianco DOC comes from the eponymous DOC zone on the Ionian coast, where the Mediterranean climate and calcareous soils give the wine its distinctive character.
In the glass, it displays a clear straw yellow color. The nose offers fresh pear, white peach, and a hint of blossom – elderflower or acacia. On the palate, it is light-bodied, with lively acidity and a clean, short finish with a slightly salty note – typical of coastal regions.
Serving temperature: 10–12 °C. Pairs well with grilled fish, seafood, or a simple Caprese salad. Also a good choice as an aperitif on the patio. Drink now – no aging potential.
