Les Racines Les Pallières

A Gigondas that shows what the Southern Rhône can do when craftsmanship and site come together: dense, spicy, with a depth that won't let go after the first sip.

Les Pallières is one of the most renowned estates in the Gigondas appellation. The Brunier family — known for their Château Rayas neighbor Vieux Télégraphe in Châteauneuf-du-Pape — farms the old Grenache vines on the plateau-like limestone-clay soil of the Dentelles de Montmirail. Les Racines is the estate's entry-level cuvée, but clearly stands in its style: spontaneous fermentation, careful aging.

In the glass, a dark ruby red appears. On the nose, Morello cherry, blackberry, and a hint of dried thyme — the garrigue-typical herbal tone of the southern French hills. On the palate, juicy with a noticeable but not harsh tannin structure, mild spice from dark forest berries, long finish with a mineral note.

Serving suggestion: Best served at 16–17 °C. Pairs well with braised lamb with olives, wild boar ragout, or strong goat cheese from Provence.
